National Senior Certificate + minimum: Certificate in Laboratory Assistance and / or at least
2 years’ experience in a related lab environment. Experience performing PBMC isolations, cell counting + cryopreservation experience highly preferred. Fluent in English, strong computer literacy: MS Office, Excel, database systems.

Location: Cape Town
Salary: R11,500 ~ R14,000 pm CTC (total before deductions)
Terms: 1-year Fixed term contract
A new position has become available for a bright, hardworking individual with a flair for hands on, lab-based work in a clinical laboratory environment. The company is involved in clinical research and this role forms a supportive function to the researchers & scientists. Responsibilities include receiving, processing & storing clinical samples according to standard operating procedures, making use of the LIMS system, performing lab-based assays, including Ficoll peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) isolation, cell counting and cryopreservation of samples using liquid Nitrogen.
Other duties will include the general day-to-day management, monitoring and ordering of all consumable stocks in the labs, overseeing the use of lab equipment and ensuring good housekeeping to ensure smooth running of the lab and working together with other staff members when required.
- National Senior Certificate plus a Certificate in Laboratory Assistance and/OR
- At least 2 years working experience in a relevant lab environment
- Experience doing PBMC isolations, cell counting & cryopreservation ideal
- Great communication skills, fluent in English
- Accurate with high attention to detail
- Independent & reliable
- Highly computer literate: MS Office, Excel, database systems
- Must reside in Cape Town on applying
