ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons / MSc / PhD Biotechnology OR similar discipline + 3 yrs’ hands-on lab experience, with strong focus on genomics / molecular biology, including NGS. Candidates with proven relevant sales / customer-facing experience are highly preferred. Professional approach, self-driven & determined with outstanding command of English. OWN CAR, Code 08 driver’s license.
VALID PASSPORT to apply+ willing to travel in Africa.
Location: Randburg, Johannesburg (office-based role, with travel into Africa to see customers)

Our client is a well-known and established distributor of high-quality imported Lab Instruments and Consumables. We are currently searching for an experienced Sales Representative to form of part of their expanding Export Sales department, overseeing their genomics & sequencing portfolio. The company holds licenses for products applied in the Chemical, Life & Health Science industries in SA and various markets across the African continent. The ideal candidate will have both Scientific and Commercial Sales experience within the laboratory industry, specifically focused on products used in genomics & sequencing workflows. The role involves independently driving sales and new business development into the export region, proactively generating leads to successfully expand the current customer base. Frequent travel into Africa is integral to the role.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Hons/MSc/PhD in Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or related
- 3 yrs’ hands on lab-based genomics / molecular biology applications (incl. NGS)
- Previous sales experience in the life science industry (Highly preferred: Experience building customer relationships in SADC region)
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, & strong determination / motivation to succeed
- Highly skilled in communications and presentations in English, independent worker with highly developed people skills
- Proficient in CRM software & Microsoft Office Suite
- Code 08 Drivers license & OWN CAR
- VALID PASSPORT at the time of applying + willing to travel out of SA when required
