ESSENTIALS
MSc Cell / Molecular Biology / Biotech + 3 yrs’ sales experience in export’s sales in the life sciences industry. Previous experience building customer relationships in the SADC region & a track record of generating leads, closing sales & achieving sales growth. Proficient in CRM software & Microsoft Office Suite. Outstanding command of English language.
OWN CAR, Code 08 driver’s license.
Must have a VALID PASSPORT to apply + willing to travel into Sub-Saharan Africa.
Location: Residing in Johannesburg OR/ Cape Town
Salary: basic + provident fund + reimbursement-based car allowance
DETAILS
Our client, an established SA distributor of high-quality imported Lab Instruments & Consumables, is recruiting for an experienced Sales Specialist to oversee & grow their export customer base & sales in the SADC region. The role seeks to promote & sell products across the Molecular, Cell Biology, Clinical & Automation portfolios with the SADC countries. Relevant industries include research, academic, commercial, diagnostics, pathology, and clinical-related lab environments. The ideal candidate will actively drive new business development, generate leads & implement marketing & sales, expanding the current customer base to increase profit margins. Intermittent travel into Africa is integral to the role. Responsibilities include gaining technical product expertise, calling & setting up meetings with existing & new customers, offering relevant product workflow solutions, and providing high quality after sales service, sales reporting, and forecasting.
REQUIREMENTS
- MSc in Biological / Molecular / Life Sciences, or related discipline
- 3 yrs’ experience in a life science-based sales role with a focus on the SADC region
- Proficient in CRM software & Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly skilled in communications and presentations in English
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Independent worker with highly developed people skills
- Code 08 Drivers license & OWN CAR
- VALID PASSPORT + willing to travel out of SA when required
