ESSENTIALS
Tertiary qualification in Agric Science/Analytical Chem/Biotech / relevant AND training in Lab Management/Ops/Quality management; 6 yrs or more lab management + operational experience in an ISO 17025 analytical testing lab, MUST have proven track record of successfully managing an accredited, multi-discipline commercial lab/group of labs, and managing cross-functional teams. Must be able to converse in Afrikaans.

Our client, an ISO 17025 SANAS certified analytical testing laboratory is recruiting for a Head of Operations to oversee their group of laboratories. This company offers chemical, physical and microbiological tests to various agricultural, manufacturing & production industries, testing soil, water, plants, residues, feed, food, fertilizers etc. Being responsible for all sites, this role seeks to ensure optimum utilisation and efficiency of all lab resources, ensuring quality and timeous results to customers. Management of operational costs, budgets, resources, supply chain processes, ensuring the smooth running of LIMS, collaborating with all departments & stakeholders, implementing continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and best practices. This role seeks to enhance quality management for accreditation compliance of ISO 17025 and notably takes responsibility as the deputy 16.2 appointee to ensure OSHACT compliance in the laboratories. Reporting to the MD and being a member of exec. management, this role is responsible for employee related admin and requires travel to other sites.
