ESSENTIALS
Relevant degree or diploma, preferably in food safety/agriculture/horticulture, a strong aptitude in MS Excel, previous relevant work experience in QC / BRC / Global Gap preferable. Must be highly computer literate, efficient & organised, willing to work overtime and on weekends in the busy season. Driver’s license & own vehicle required, excellent communication skills, able to speak/understand Afrikaans.
 
Location:  Tzaneen, Limpopo
Salary: ~R17 K pm CTC + small cottage housing (which is 10 km from the packhouse).

Are you a young agric / horticultural / food safety graduate looking for work experience?
This is a 6-month contract role based in a fruit packhouse in Tzaneen, Limpopo.
The role is largely administrative and requires someone who is dependable, efficient with administration, detail-orientated, organised, and well-spoken with strong computer literacy (particularly with MS Excel).  
 
Reporting to the Packhouse Manager, the role involves providing admin assistance to the Manager & quality team. Duties and responsibilities include maintaining quality records, managing internal quality document control, ensuring documentation & QC is in line with BRC & Global Gap requirements. The role will also entail document design, control & management, monitoring and upgrading the calibration register for all test equipment and arranging recalibration as required. Other responsibilities include data entry, audit preparation and general office admin. This packhouse runs seasonally and the workday starts early and often finishes late, particularly in the middle of the season where more fruit is being harvested. The role requires someone who is dedicated to work overtime/on weekends, as required.
 
REQUIREMENTS
    • Relevant Degree / Diploma in Agric / Horticulture / Food Safety
    • Previous work experience in similar role highly advantageous
    • Excellent understanding of quality control & quality assurance processes
    • Strong capability with MS Excel
    • Firm understanding of BRC / Global Gap and quality management systems
    • Strong time management, efficient, organised, adaptable in a demanding environment
    • Drivers license & own vehicle
    • Willing to work overtime & on weekends
