ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons / MSc Life science/Cell biology PLUS hands on Microscopy (confocal / electron), imaging & advanced cell culture (ideally 3D culturing) experience, 2 years sales / customer interaction experience. Highly computer literate, outstanding command of English.
SA citizen, willing to travel, with own car and driver’s license.
 
Location:  Randburg, Johannesburg

This is an exciting career opportunity for a scientist with hands on use of confocal / electron microscopy preferably with a solid understanding & experience with advanced cell culturing methods. Our client is a well renowned South African distributor of a high-quality range of life science-related lab instrumentation and consumables. This role is a newly created position within our client’s optics/microscopy & cellular biology division. The successful candidate will be a highly professional individual who can communicate with customers in this technical field to drive sales. Day to day activities will include visiting customers, doing equipment demonstrations, providing comprehensive after sales service and positively contributing to the team by complying with company processes. Nationwide travel is integral to the position.  
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
    • BSc Hons / MSc in a Life Science discipline (i.e. Molecular / Cell biology)
    • Hands on lab experience with Microscopy & Optics (Confocal / Electron Microscopy)
    • Strong understanding of advanced cell culture workflows (ideally 3D cell culture)
    • 2+ years relevant sales/customer care experience, preferably in this field
    • Highly skilled in communications and presentations in English
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with highly developed people skills
    • Ambitious, self-motivated & accountable  
    • SA Citizen, with DL, own vehicle & willing to travel
