ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons/MSc in Biotechnology/relevant, plus proven sales experience (ideally 3-4yrs+ in external sales), + hands-on, lab-based experience in bioprocessing, cell culture, protein expression & purification OR experience in pharma manufacturing at a SAPHRA licensed facility focused on sterile API production. Valid driver’s license, own vehicle, SA citizens only.
Characteristics: Highly professional, well-spoken, confident & driven to succeed.
 
Location:  KwaZulu-Natal (Servicing KZN, Free State & some of Gauteng)

DETAILS
Our client is a distributor of high-quality instrumentation, consumables & lab-based solutions for both research and commercial industries covering the Biopharmaceutical, Life Science / Analytical Chemistries. This role will oversee the Bioprocessing portfolio and product ranges will include instruments and consumables related to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, bioprocessing & biopharmaceutical industries (e.g. single-use bioprocessing equipment, filtration systems, bioreactors, chromatography solutions and other related technologies).  
 
This role will suit a high self-motivated individual with a strong drive to achieve, who can professionally drive sales in their territories (which includes KZN, Free State & Gauteng, but predominantly KZN). The successful incumbent will be a mature, independent self-starter who will be responsible for actively seeking out new customers and engaging these to boost sales. Responsibilities’ will include providing expert technical advice & solutions for their customers, as well as delivering high-level customer care, lead generation and collaboration within the team & with relevant business partners.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc Hons/MSc in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science / Bioengineering / relevant
  • Hands on lab experience in bioprocessing/cell culture/protein expression & purification
  • OR proven lab experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing SAPHRA licensed facility
  • ~ 3-4 years external sales experience in technically a relevant industry
  • Outstanding communication skills (English) & ability to present to high-level customers
  • Compelling Customer Service focus & ability to engage with people & drive sales
  • High performing, strategic thinker, self-motivated, goal driven, problem solver
  • Willing to travel across various territories, with driver’s license & own vehicle
