ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons / MSc Microbiology / Biotech/relevant + 3 yrs’ hands-on lab experience in the field of microbiology / molecular biology. This role calls for candidates who have relevant sales & customer-facing working experience. Excellent communication skills in English, strong determination to succeed & ability to conduct high-level presentations to various audiences.
Need to have VALID PASSPORT at time of application, own vehicle + Code 08 driver’s license. Willing to travel into Africa.
Location: Residing in Johannesburg, working from the office in Randburg.
Salary: Negotiable on experience, includes benefits.
DETAILS
Our client supplies & distributes high-quality Lab Instruments and Consumables to a range of customers across the African continent. Typical customers are those in the Chemical, Life & Health Science industries, overlapping into the Agriculture, Mining and Food industries too.
The ideal candidate will have hands on lab-based experience in the technical science environment related to Microbiology & Molecular Biology as well as commercial experience, preferably selling products into the lab industry. Role responsibilities include independently driving new business into the region, acceptance of sales quotas for your territory, working proactively within the sales team, finding new customers and generating leads to successfully expand the current customer base. Frequent travel into Africa is integral to the role.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Hons/MSc in Micro / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology or related
- 3 yrs’ hands on lab-based micro / molecular biology experience
- Previous sales experience in the life science industry
- Professional communicator (English) with excellent presentation skills
- Highly developed people skills, ability to confidently communicate, customer focused
- Code 08 Drivers license & own car
- VALID PASSPORT at the time of applying + willing to travel out of SA when required
