ROLE OUTLINE
A well-established provider of scientific laboratory solutions is recruiting a Technical Sales Specialist to support and expand its Water and Microbiology portfolio within the Western Cape. This role is based in Cape Town and will focus on servicing customers across the region, supplying laboratory instrumentation and associated consumables to clients within academic, research, and commercial environments.

DETAILS
The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for managing and growing a customer base within the Water and Microbiology sector across the Western Cape. The role involves the sale of laboratory instrumentation and related consumables to customers within academic, research, and commercial laboratory environments. Key responsibilities will likely include:
    • Managing and developing existing customer relationships within the region
    • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
    • Promoting and selling laboratory instrumentation and consumables
    • Conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations
    • Preparing quotations and responding to technical and commercial enquiries
    • Providing after-sales support and technical assistance
    • Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales reporting, and forecasts
    • Liaising with internal teams and suppliers to ensure effective service delivery
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
    • BSc/BSc Hons in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, etc.
    • Hands on technical laboratory experience within water, environmental, food, analytical testing environments
    • 2-3 years’ external sales experience within a scientific, laboratory, or technical industry
    • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
    • Professional, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills (English)
    • Customer-focused, organised, and solutions-driven
    • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a sales territory independently
    • Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle, valid passport and willingness to travel when required
    • South African citizens only
