ESSENTIALS
BTech/BSc Hons Food Packaging Technology (or relevant qualification) with ~4 yrs technical work experience in thermo-form packaging, preferably in food processing/packaging industry. Firsthand experience working with thermo-form packaging equipment, incl. troubleshooting & technical problem-solving. SA citizen & driver’s license, willing to travel. Must be presentable, with great communication & administrative skills, with a passion & drive for innovation.
 
Location:  Cape Town /OR Johannesburg

An established Food Ingredient Manufacturing & Equipment Innovation company is recruiting for a new Packaging Applications Technologist who will work closely with their sales team, serving as the technical liaison between customers and the sales team, addressing & resolving clients’ packaging concerns & inquiries. The role also involves providing technical support & expertise, arranging & conducting equipment demonstrations and training sessions to customers, as well as providing collaborative development and troubleshooting options with respect to the equipment & processing, ultimately ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
 
The position requires an individual with strong administrative & communicative skills, who can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, handling reporting, planning, budgeting & prioritizing with ease.
 
REQUIREMENTS
    • BTech / BSc Hons in Food Packaging Technology (or relevant degree)
    • ~4 yrs work experience & expertise in thermo-form packaging (meat/cheese preferably)
    • Firsthand technical experience working with thermo-form packaging equipment
    • Troubleshooting & problem-solving experience with related packaging equipment
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong administrative skills
    • Excellent communication skills, well-presented, hardworking
    • Driver’s license & own vehicle, willing to travel, SA citizen
