ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons/MSc/PhD in Biotech/Molecular Biology, additional Business/Commercial qual. preferred. Min. of 10 years++ working experience in relevant Sales/BD role. Proven product management track record within the lab instruments (preferably high throughput technologies) / life sciences industry.
Seeking a great leader, who is a strategic problem solver, excellent communicator, self-driven.
SA citizen, driver’s license & own vehicle.
Location: Johannesburg

Exciting opportunity for an experienced ‘seasoned’ Product Manager to join a renowned company supplying the Life & Environmental Sciences, Medical diagnostics, and related laboratory industries nationwide. This senior level position reports to the MD. Responsibilities of the role are focused on:
✔️ Driving supplier relationships & product strategy
✔️ Leading product launches & campaigns
✔️ Monitoring performance & market trends
✔️ Supporting sales teams & engage directly with customers
✔️ Overseeing resources, logistics & reporting
This leadership position will play a pivotal role in managing supplier relationships, defining product strategies, and driving commercial growth within the Automation and Biobanking portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure alignment between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers, while delivering on business objectives in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Hons/MSc/PhD in Biotech/or related+ Business/Commercial qual. Advantageous.
- 10+ yrs working experience in lab sales PLUS well-developed Product Management experience within the lab instruments / life sciences industry, with a strategic, leadership focus
- Experience with Automated Liquid Handling and High Throughput Technologies preferred
- Strong business acumen, ability to balance scientific knowledge and commercial strategy.
- Excellent communicator & problem solver with proven stakeholder management skills,
- Analytical, strategic thinker with the ability to adapt in a dynamic market environment.
