An exciting opportunity is available for a scientifically qualified Sales Professional to join a well-established organisation who supply laboratory gas generation solutions to a broad range of industries. This role is ideal for a self-driven individual who enjoys consultative selling, building relationships, and working independently to drive revenue growth.

Salary: Structured salary, based on experience.  
 
ROLE DETAILS
A provider of laboratory gas generation systems is seeking an experienced salesperson to manage and grow its customer base across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and government sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales within their assigned territory, engaging with laboratory customers using techniques such as LC-MS, GC, ICP-MS, and FT-IR, and delivering tailored solutions aligned to customer needs.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage & grow a territory of existing customers while developing new business opportunities
  • Drive sales through lead follow-up, cold calling, & effective pipeline management
  • Conduct consultative sales engagements, delivering tailored solutions & proposals
  • Build strong relationships with customers, laboratory teams, & key industry stakeholders
  • Execute territory plans, maintain accurate CRM reporting, represent company at industry events
 
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel within the assigned territory.
 
REQUIREMENTS
    • BSc Hons / MSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
    • >2 years’ sales experience within a scientific, lab, or technical environment (advantageous)
    • Hands on lab experience & a solid understanding of lab workflows & analytical techniques related to techniques such as: LC-MS / GC-MS / ICP-OES / FT-IR
    • Excellent communication, presentation, & interpersonal skills
    • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Willingness to travel extensively
    • Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
    • South African citizens only, with valid passport.
