Incredible opportunity for an outgoing, dynamic salesperson with MSc/PhD in Metabolomic-related research, with a flair for speaking to and engaging with people! Must have at least 2 years independent, hands-on lab experience involving proteomic LC-MS + associated sample preparation techniques. Demonstrable people skills with 2+ years previous experience in a customer service-based role. Valid driver’s license, own vehicle & SA citizen.
 
Location:  Cape Town OR JHB, initially office based, happy to travel to see customers nationally

DETAILS
A well renowned and established South African distributor of high-quality instrumentation, consumables and lab solutions is recruiting for a qualified Sales Rep role with a good understanding in metabolomics & proteomics.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business development and sales, visiting customers, doing demonstrations, and after sales service and support. The product ranges include instruments and consumables related to metabolomics, proteomic LC-MS workflows, associated sample preparation techniques, protein purification and analysis. Responsibilities in the role will also include sales reporting, planning, and complying with company processes. The role is well supported by a strong infrastructure within the company, including an existing customer base, strong leadership, an excellent product range and experienced Application Specialists. Travel is integral to the position.  
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • Masters (MSc)/Doctorate (PhD) with Metabolomics as a key component  
  • 2 years hands on lab experience using proteomic LC-MS + related sample preparation
  • Knowledge & practical experience in metabolomic + proteomic techniques
  • Customer service experience in sales in lab-based industry (2+ years ideally)
  • Outstanding communication skills, eloquent & professional personal presentation
  • Strategic thinker, self-motivated, goal driven, problem solver
  • Willing to travel nationally with driver’s license & own vehicle
  • Valid SA ID
