Location:  Based in Johannesburg, covering surrounding provinces (travel required)

DETAILS
A reputable supplier of scientific instrumentation, consumables, and laboratory solutions is recruiting a Technical Sales Rep to support and expand its Water and Microbiology portfolio — a key and rapidly growing area within the business. The successful candidate will act as a dedicated account manager, taking ownership of customer relationships while driving revenue growth through new and existing clients. Key responsibilities will include:
    • Managing & growing accounts within water, environmental, and microbiology testing sectors
    • New business development and revenue generation within the assigned territory
    • Preparing quotations and responding to technical and commercial enquiries
    • Conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations
    • Providing after-sales support and technical assistance on instrumentation and consumables
    • Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales statistics, and reporting
    • Liaising with suppliers, admin, and internal support teams to ensure seamless service delivery
    • JHB-based, with domestic travel required and occasional international travel as needed.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
    • BSc / BSc Honours in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry/related discipline
    • Lab experience within environmental/ water/ food testing environments
    • 2–3 years’ sales experience, ideally within a related scientific, lab, or technical industry
    • Strong technical aptitude and high attention to detail
    • Confident communicator, well spoken & articulate, with strong interpersonal skills
    • Customer-focused, reliable, and solutions-oriented
    • Self-motivated, well-organised, happy to manage a sales territory independently
    • Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle, valid passport and willingness to travel
    • South African citizens only
