ESSENTIALS

Tertiary qualified: BSc Honours / MSc Analytical Chemistry or related, 2 ~ 3 yrs of hands-on lab experience using LC-MS / HPLC / GC / TLC / SPE & / Spectroscopy. Ideally 2+ years proven sales experience in the same / relevant industry, outstanding command of English (written & spoken), excellent presentation skills. SA citizen, willing to travel, with driver’s license and own car.

Location:  Based in Cape Town (travel is required).

Fantastic opportunity for a Scientist with a strong chemistry background & a passion for sales & communicating with people. An established lab supply distributor seeks an experienced individual to join their analytical sales team. The position will entail frequent customer engagement & proactive business development to generate a strong sales pipeline, while ensuring related sales reporting administration requirements are fulfilled.

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of professionalism, a positive, self-confident approach with strong negotiating skills and a tangible drive to succeed. Responsibilities are geared towards high-level customer interfacing, including daily customer contact targets & proactive customer care. Day-to-day activities in the role may involve: Providing sound technical advice, performing hands on equipment demonstrations and/or seminars, following up on customer queries and quotations, and conducting customer profiling. Travel is integral to the role, with the designated sales area to be confirmed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

·        Minimum of BSc Hons or higher (MSc or PhD) in Analytical Chemistry or related

·        2-3 yrs Hands-on lab experience using LC-MS / HPLC / GC / TLC / SPE &/ Spectroscopy

·        Ideally 2+ years of proven sales experience in a relevant industry

·        Highly skilled in communications and presentations in English

·        SA citizen, with driver’s licence (Code 8) + own vehicle, happy to travel

·        Excellent sales + negotiation skills, with a drive to succeed

·        Independent, efficient worker with highly developed people skills

·        Highly computer literate
